For this purpose, all activities will be transfered to the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), the School of Management and Law, are about to be set up at the Institute for Risk & Insurance. The IIS is consequently liquidated. (publicated within the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce (SOGC) on June 26, 2022.

This is history:

The IIS was founded in Switzerland in March 2000 with the objective to provide training and education in Insurance and Risk Management. The IIS is a non-profit association which is financed from member contributions and course fees.

The contents of the courses is highly related to practice and all instructors have practical experience in the subject they instruct. The IIS is capable of fulfilling special training needs by developing new courses or by choosing the appropriate instructors/advisors.

The IIS offers several courses of the The Institutes (former IIA Insurance Institute of America) in English and has a formal co-operation with this leading institute for insurance and risk management education. The IIS is also the exclusive test center of The Institutes in Switzerland.

This was important to us:

The IIS facilitates the education in the fields of handling risk in the holistic sense. We focus on all kind of risk transfer options existing. This includes the know-how of ERM and its adequate strategic implementation within an enterprise to develop a sustainable, responsible and robust success.

We do this by combining forces as an association. If available and adequate we work closely with strong national and/or international educational partners and keep up with state of the art developments. A key focus lays on the link of theory and application and the support of life classes to share and develop cross-linked opinions and differentiated approaches to the concepts. However we offer different study paths to the students to broaden learning opportunities along the different needs.
